What Does Baking Your Makeup Do?

If you're dialed into the beauty globe, chances are yous've heard the term "blistering." Information technology's been a popular affair for the by few years, but information technology still seems to be a source of defoliation if you're not certain of the why and how.

So, who is baking right for? If you're someone who has trouble with your concealer creasing or foundation sliding, or you need to set your makeup for a long time, be it a summer day out, a hymeneals (or both), this is a great technique for keeping your makeup in place.

Baking is a fourth dimension-honored technique in the drag community (we take stolen SO MANY elevate methods in modern makeup—contouring/highlighting among them—so, cheers, queens!!!), and sets makeup for a long dark of dancing and sweating under hot lights. This method of setting uses a translucent powder to trap your body oestrus for 5-10 minutes and set your makeup in the most astonishing style—hence the name "baking." You'll notice a departure as soon as y'all wipe away the excess powder that your makeup is matte, smooth and silky, and it'due south non going anywhere.

How to broil:

All you demand to bake is a translucent powder, your favorite foundation, and concealer.

First, make sure your under eye area is hydrated—I'm using this.

Next, use your favorite concealer and foundation. I love this concealer from W3ll People, and apply it in kind of a triangle with the first indicate being my inner corner next to my center, down to well-nigh halfway downwardly my nose, and up to where the top of my ear meets my face. Then, I apply my foundation. I like to do foundation every bit a second step because I retrieve it'southward easier to make it actually blend with the concealer.

After you lot've got your concealer and foundation practical, dip a clammy makeup sponge into your translucent powder and apply it where your makeup tends to slide or come off kickoff. I practise my undereye area, my chin, and a little in the middle of my brows, blending upward to the forehead just slightly since that's where I tend to lose my base outset. Leave the pulverization on your face up for most 5-seven minutes.

The last step is gently brushing off the translucent powder. Be sure to brush off as much as you tin so y'all tin avoid harsh lines or white spots. Sometimes I accept a photo of my face up with the flash on if I'grand unsure of whether I got everything! Yous'll be able to experience a departure immediately if yous gently tap where y'all baked. xo, Keely

P.S. This dazzler trend can wait intimidating, only you get the hang of it after a few tries and it's truly pretty easy and perfect for warm conditions or long days.
