Uber Sued for Exposing Husband's Infidelity
A French man of affairs is suing Uber for 45 million euro (nearly $48 million) after the app-based auto service sent notifications to his wife's phone most his whereabouts, exposing his infidelity.
The Local France, citing French newspaper Le Figaro, reported that the man, who is from Côte d'Azur in the south of France, is blaming Uber for breaking upward his marriage. The whole thing started when he borrowed his wife's telephone and logged into Uber.
Uber did not immediately reply to PCMag's request for comment. A spokesperson for the company declined to annotate on the matter when contacted past Le Figaro, maxim "Uber doesn't publicly comment on individual cases, and especially those which concern things such as a divorce procedure," according to The Local French republic.
The kickoff hearing for the case is expected next month.
Meanwhile, Uber has been at the heart of some political troubles back at domicile. The auto service, in the wake of President Donald Trump'southward immigration executive order on immigration, dropped surge pricing and continued operating every bit other taxi drivers protested at New York's JFK Aerodrome.
